Hello everyone! I've been extremely busy in the studio the past few months and i can tell you that many things are happening with this little business of mine and MANY more to come. Exciting!

But, my Mod Owls, well, Summer and Fall, were recently featured on the today Show! Their 60th Anniversary special to be exact this past Friday. Frank Fontana from HGTV picked items that he felt worked for a low budget nursery. Let's face it, the majority of the economy now is doing just that. I am so honored that Frank and Posh Tots picked my owls for the show, they looked great! Please watch the video and enjoy. Ok back to work and football practice.

Hello everyone…I just received an email from Southern Living Magazine that the video is up for the 2009 Idea House in Port Aransas Texas.
They included some of my art for the children's bedroom upstairs. They only show the Mod Owls in the room, but they did put some others in there as well. You’ll have to pick up the August issue magazine to see the rest. I’m so excited and honored to be chosen as one of the many artists throughout the house. New Updates, a Show, and a Feature!

There is so much going on in my life and this biz that I really don't know where to start. My website J.AUSTINRyan is getting updated with new content, color changes, new images, and more features. These will all hopefully be done soon. My customers who have been ordering, well, let's just say I've been getting phone calls to place orders, since my site has been down.
I also had a photo shoot with the ever funny Garrett who is pictured above, he'll be popping up on my site as well.
More and more stores are adding my art which is honestly amazing and scary as well, my biz is growing and I basically just sat my kiddos down to tell them they are the new maids of the house this summer. Yea...those were the words that I told them when they came home from school today, which was there last by the way.
Other news, I have a Dallas show that starts tomorrow and I can honestly say " I am ready for it!".... gosh that felt good. It's a four day show and hope to pick up some new accounts.

Deck your halls all year long

Talk about getting a bang for your nursery decor buck: The whimsical set of mini hand-painted artwork is not just wall art, it's a whole set of ornaments. Personally, I'd hang them in the baby's room, but sneak them out to the tree every December so that the whole house can enjoy them.

This whimsical critters are hand painted on eco-friendly wood from artist Marnie Vollenhals of J. Austin Ryan. I love her existing motley assortment of characters and colors, but she'll customize them for you for a small additional fee. If you don't want the whole set, you can buy them individually as well. I'm partial to Little Mouse on Guitar, myself.

I'm Invited!

I haven't mentioned this prior, but I was approached at the Dallas Market in Feb. 08 to have some of my paintings in Southern Living Magazine. I was very excited because this is my first Magazine to be featured in. So the buyer, who was so cute herself, had picked out four of my paintings that she was going to be putting into the magazine.
Then she starts to tell me that these paintings are going to be in the IDEA HOUSE(Taylor Creek) for 2008.
Oh my gosh...I was so excited and I didn't hold back from letting her know. The house that will be seen across the country in their magazine, on the web, and in person. You can actually go see the house and view all of their decorating ideas. They made a modern nursery in the house and that's where my art will be placed.
So I received an invitation to go view the house before they even open it to the public. I can't believe they invited me. The sad thing is I can't go, I have another Dallas Show. But I will be viewing every inch of that magazine when it comes out. I will leave the surprise of what they actually picked. The issue comes out in August.....can't wait.
Well, I am so busy I don't really know where to start today. I had a show last week and am now filling those orders. I opened up some new wholesale accounts and they are new stores...yeah!
So besides painting today, I have many duties to attend to around my house. I just may have to declare national chore day to my children!-Marnie
